Roastit collects limited, anonymous usage events - such as when a roast is started, paused, or saved - along with predefined properties like roast level, roaster type, and duration. No personally identifiable information is collected, and data is never sold to third parties.
Roast data
All roast records - bean info, phase timings, heat and fan settings, notes, and photos - are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your phone.
Photos
Photos you take of your beans or roasted coffee are stored locally only and are never uploaded anywhere.
Usage data
Roastit collects limited, anonymous usage events - such as when a roast is started or saved - along with predefined properties such as roast level, roaster type, and duration. It does not collect roast notes or other user-entered text. No account or personal identity is attached to these events, location is not derived from IP addresses, and the temporary identifier used to group them together resets every time the app restarts.
No accounts
No account, email address, or personal information is required to use Roastit.
Third-party services
Roastit uses PostHog, a privacy-configured analytics provider, to collect the limited usage events described above. Session recording, IP-based location, and automatic screen or lifecycle tracking are disabled. PostHog does not receive your roast notes, photos, or any personally identifiable information.
Data deletion
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
